For the past 70 years, immigration to Canada has continued growing; however, the composition of this trend changed during the 1960s; the number of immigrants from Europe and the United States decreased while the presence of immigrants from other source areas started growing to the point that they were the majority of the foreign-born population in 2006.
The increasing demographic presence of 'visible minorities' and foreign trained professionals demands equal access to employment opportunities, which let them play their occupational roles according to their qualifications and work experience, so they can contribute to the development of this country and enjoy the benefits of it.
Therefore, our objective is to provide an interdisciplinary and collaborative site, where the analysis and discussion about discrimination against highly skilled immigrants in the Canadian job market can articulate effective proposals to eliminate systemic racism.
